Step 1 — Find your warehouses
Search your zip in the Search by Zip card, then click the star on any store you'd actually drive to. Starred warehouses appear in your Favorite Warehouses card automatically — that's the set Gold Alerts watches for you on the dashboard.
Step 2 — Dial in your profit stack
A Purchase Profile is your cost-reduction stack: credit-card cashback, Costco Executive rebate, sales tax, shipping. Once it's set, every price in the app turns into your margin — the same bar can be a winner for one member and a pass for another, and the profit columns show which one you are.
Step 3 — Turn on alerts

It's built to be left open — spot, stock, and bids stream in live without a refresh, so plenty of members keep it up on a second monitor all day and let the numbers come to them.
SMS + settings
Email alerts work on every plan with zero setup. Want texts? Gold Alerts Premium adds SMS delivery for $15/mo (5-day trial). Add your phone number in Settings, set your timezone, and use quiet hours to hold alerts during a window you choose — they arrive together in one digest when your quiet hours end. The default-channel toggles there only seed new alerts — each alert keeps its own delivery switches.

How fast are the alerts?
The online scanner's hot tier checks Costco.com every 30 seconds, warehouses are scanned throughout the day, and every event needs 5 consecutive matching scans before it fires — so an alert means confirmed stock, typically in your inbox under a minute after confirmation.
Do I need a Costco membership?
You need one to buy at Costco, not to use Gold Alerts. If you have the Executive tier, add its 2% rebate to your Purchase Profile — it's a real chunk of the flip math.
Does it cover in-store and Costco.com?
Both. In-store alerts watch the warehouses you favorite; online alerts watch the full precious-metals catalog on Costco.com, including brand-new SKUs.
How do I get text alerts?
Add your phone number in Settings and start the Gold Alerts Premium trial — texts are the fastest channel and re-arm with every alert. Email needs no setup at all.
